Do Mouth Guards Cure Bruxism?

Grinding your teeth at night? Do you have bruxism? If you do this, your dentist tries to get you to invest mouthguard to protect your teeth.

I say "invest" because these masks are not usually cheap. They generally run upwards of $ 600.00, because it a custom fit to your teeth. Your dentist needs to take impressions of your mouth and teeth, especially around the mouth guards are made.

The problem with these masks is that they do not stopYou from your nightly teeth grinding. They protect your teeth as announced, but who wants to have to wear a mouth guard for the rest of their lives? I know I would rather not. My latest mouthpiece was when I had braces, and I do not want another mouth apparatus in this lifetime deal.

What are the chances that someone actually takes a surgical mask every night for the rest of their lives? After $ 600.00 I 'm sure that the incentive will be great to wear it for aWhile, but like everything else the mask will lose its appeal and end up in a drawer. Furthermore, if you wear it every night it will have to be replaced, will mean more $ 600.00 on the road.

So what is the solution if the dentist's recommendation for a mouth guard for your bruxism is not to your taste? You can try to cure your problem yourself, and that's what I'm trying to do. Teeth grinding at night is usually a symptom of stress and other things that youTo alleviate work as long as you are able to identify the problem. There is no reason why you feel put under pressure by your dentist, which should get the mask really just a bandaid solution. The work on the problem and do not heal you cover it with a surgical mask. One day you will not regret it.
